The 1st annual Gala on the Hill was held on May 22, 1010 and was a success on many levels. Besides raising some funds for the Green McAdoo Cultural Center, it also served as a quick history lesson for those who were unfamiliar with the story of the Clinton 12, as the museum was also open to visitors. The event served as a chance for old acquaintances to reunite and discuss the progress of the cultural center, as well as the progress of Clinton overall. The band "Dawn of Destiny" provided a relaxing atmosphere that made the evening more enjoyable as they played R&B. Oliver's Restaurant and Catering catered the event and provided a wide variety of choices. All Occasions Party Rentals provided the tent and lighting, and the front lawn looked amazing. Next year's event will be even bigger and better, as it will be the 5-year anniversary of the center and the 55th anniversary of the desegregation of Clinton High School.
